InnovateAsia 2012 and The 1st Asia-Pacific Workshop Come to a Grand Conclusion!

The grand finale of Altera InnovateAsia 2012 was hosted this year in Xiamen, the ancient and beautiful port city of China. Hosting teams from both Taiwanese universities and Chinese universities, ten championship teams went head to head against each other for the cross-straits championship. InnovateAsia is an annual design competition hosted by Altera, Terasic, and partner companies where students from any university can enter and submit a design entry centered on FPGA application. This year's contest was co-sponsored by Linear and ISSI. Students first compete locally until the top five final teams from both China and Taiwan are selected to join at one location to be judged together. With international experts from Altera flying in to review the projects, the top ten teams were under great pressure to perform well, and the result was a stunning collection of varied applications.

Terasic’s Stratix V FPGA Kits Named One of the 2012 Hot 100 Products by EDN

Terasic to release new Stratix V FPGA Boards

To fulfill the design needs that demand high speed, advanced memory interfacing, and the highest logic capacity, Terasic has just announced a host of new FPGA boards for tackling high-bandwidth applications such as high frequency trading, data acquisition, network and signal processing. The boards come within three flavors: the TR5-Lite, which features a conveniently small form-factor, the DE5-NET, which maximizes memory, speed, and bandwidth capabilities, and the TR5-F40W, which promotes flexibility and feature expansion.

NetFPGA Now Available for DE4!

The University of Massachusetts at Amherst has announced that the NetFPGA program has been successfully ported to the DE4 Stratix IV GX FPGA Development Kit! A powerful open source-networking platform for prototyping high-speed, hardware-accelerated networking systems, NetFPGA is primarily aimed for students and researchers for learning about the development of gigabit Ethernet interfaces, networking protocols, and more.

Success with Terasic Seminars!

This month, Terasic Technologies hosted a conference, which included four consecutive sessions on FPGA design. Over 120 participants all over Taiwan attended the annual conference event, which took place in Terasic headquarters, Hsinchu. Titled “LCD Display and Industrial Touch Control Conference,” the event took course over the span of 6 weeks and was a huge success, with many sessions booked within a matter of hours.

Terasic Technologies Successfully Demonstrates VisualSonic Studio and VEEK-MT Wall

This year’s ESC was a phenomenal success as Terasic showcased “VisualSonic Studio,” an interactive token-based music system, and the VEEK-MT wall, a platform composed of six Video and Embedded Evaluation Kits – Multi-touch. Showcasing in Altera’s booth, Terasic was featured as part of the Design Services Network, an elite group of Altera partners dedicated towards providing premium turnkey services to Altera FPGA customers.
